Our actions in Tchad

Context

In Chad, insecurity has become alarming. This prevailing situation puts populations in difficult situations making them displaced in the region. Attacks by armed groups are on the rise and forced displacement has plunged the population into food insecurity. Insecurity in Chad continued to be a source of concern. The victims of these attacks to escape death flee, abandoning their homes, their property, their professional life. Having become displaced, they are hungry, thirsty, and lack of clothing. Humanitarian needs are making themselves felt and are even becoming insufficient.

DEDI in order to help populations exposed to armed conflicts, displaced persons, refugees and asylum seekers, implements activities in partnership with local and international partners.

DEDI, through the implementation of its Programs and Projects under development, have a positive impact on the most vulnerable sectors.

Programme & Projects

In Chad, DEDI’s objective is to promote endogenous development and innovation, to create and strengthen self-learning capacities in charge of disadvantaged groups and to promote human and family rights.

DEDI helps support and strengthen the resilience of vulnerable populations in Burkina Faso, Mali, Chad, Cameroon and Niger.

The organization works primarily in the areas of food security, livelihoods and nutrition in key areas:

Food security and livelihoods (Support for IGAs, agriculture and livestock;
Food assistance and Cash intervention);
Vocational training, integration of young people and women;
Protection;
Health & Nutrition;
Water, Hygiene and Sanitation;
Shelters and non-food items;
Social cohesion and consolidation of peace;
Environment, Energy and technology.

Aware of the size of the various challenges and based on its objective, DEDI began these actions at the end of 2020 in Chad, mainly by implementing its global action plan.

DEDI aims to reach 200,000 people by 2021.
