Our actions in Niger

Context

Niger is a Sahelian country facing problems of insecurity. A thousand families found themselves displaced and cut off from all their traditions, far from their homes and faced with all kinds of difficulties.

The security situation in the country has been marked in recent years by the resurgence of terrorist attacks from the Malian and Nigerian borders, in particular perpetrated by jihadist gangs and other drug traffickers, and the terrorist group Boko Haram, mourning several families and creating a worrying humanitarian situation. .

The security situation is also worrying in other countries of West Africa, forcing several populations of neighboring countries including Nigeria and Mali to seek refuge in Niger.

According to OCHA, more than 129,015 internally displaced people live in the Diffa region and 8,432 others in the Tillabéry region. The influx of displaced people puts additional pressure on the already scarce resources of host communities.
